I was watching Repo Men where they take peoples artificial organs and I thought of doing this. I wanted to do it with parts of her outer covering off on her artificial arm so it just didn't look like she was segmented (IMO the easy way of doing androids and stuff). That way I could show the mechanical working with the organic.

Overall there are some good lines, nice shading, and an interesting exploration of the human form combined and melded with the mechanical. The character looks both hard and soft at the same time, and a lot of this was accomplished through that subtle use of shading.

I do feel that the shoulder her hand is on seems a bit high, though, and it's very evident that the lettering on the parts in the arm is hand-written, not stamped or printed as it probably should be on something manufactured.

The image, however, is very powerful as a whole, and reminds me of a lot of classic robot, cyborg, and human depictions. All told, it's a beautiful piece that I really enjoy looking at, and in particular I find myself drawn to that curious central chest cavity, wondering what rests there behind the forearm.
