Army of Jinn by JEURO85 Army of Jinn by JEURO85
Army of Jinn.....I actually thought of this drawing when I was in Thailand...due to the time difference I couldn't sleep and stumbled upon a mythology website that spoke of them several other things. Anyhow I thought it was cool.....

The jinn (Arabic: جن‎ ǧinn, singular جني ǧinnī; also spelled djinn), or genies, are supernatural spirits mentioned in the Quran and Islamic mythology who inhabit an unseen world in dimensions beyond the visible universe of humans. Together, the jinn, humans and angels make up the three sentient creations of God. The Quran mentions that the jinn are made of a smokeless and "scorching fire",[1] and they have the physical property of weight.[2] Like human beings, the jinn can also be good, evil, or neutrally benevolent.[3]

...I get the impression that these are definitely evil jinn. Is that a heart in his hand?

Very well drawn. You convey a sense of fearsomeness well with the "less-is-more" approach. Sometimes, what you *don't* see is the scariest part, and by not showing their faces, you let out imaginations conjure all kinds of fantastic horrors we'd never want to encounter.

The bland sepia-tone of the piece works well to create an unnatural "hollow" ambience to the scene, and enhances the red of their eyes and the heart, making them all the scarier.

An excellent creepy piece. Well done!

Incidentally, I'm a real mythology buff and I always love finding out about new resources on the subject. Do you happen to remember the address of that website you found?

yea they are. When I started doing this I realized that it was going to be a really simple piece...which bothered me at first. But then I liked the less is more how you put it effect. What in his hand is "evil energy" I guess I dont know what I'd call it but I wanted his body to be all darkness unless lit up by the glow of his own power to kinda create that sense of void. You would be able to tell if you saw it in person but the camera always changes the tone and stuff. I dont remember the site man sorry
